RUPTURE

Kathryn Janeway made her way to the holodeck. It had been a long day and she was looking forward to running her bubble bath program. Sure, the water was holographic, but it felt real enough. She sighed in frustration when she saw the holodeck was still in use. She’d hoped whoever had booked the time slot previous to hers would’ve cleared out early. She decided on a nice stroll around the deck to pass the time.

Just as Janeway was rounding the bend to the holodeck, she heard the doors open and the sounds of intimate laughter. Something made her stop in her tracks and peer around to see who was coming out.

It was Seven and Chakotay.

Janeway’s breath caught in her throat. Seven was wearing a red party dress and looked stunning. She was almost clinging onto Chakotay’s arm. Kathryn had the distinct feeling the pair had just been on a date - a successful one at that. For a brief mmoment, her ears pounded and her vision went fuzzy.

When the feeling passed, Janeway entered her code and slipped into the holodeck, locking it behind her. She initiated her program and sat on the edge of the bathtub, robe in hand. Blankly, she turned on the water and waited as the tub filled.

What had she just seen? Seven and Chakotay? When had that happened? *How* had that happened? Her mind reeled with unanswered questions. The room filled with the artificial steam of hot water and Janeway's focus came back to the present and she turned off the faucet. She felt numb as she disrobed and sunk into the tub, tuning out everything but the sound of the bubbles bursting.

Why was she feeling like this? She should be happy that Seven was embracing her humanity and seemingly finding happiness. But with Chakotay? Seven and the commander had never been close. Not as close as Kathryn was with Seven.

Sinking deeper into the water, Janeway closed her eyes and the image of Seven, wearing that red dress and leaning into her partner, appeared in her mind. But this time Seven was leaning on *her*. They laughed and Kathryn rested her hand over Seven’s hand on her arm. Janeway imagined Seven was so close she could smell the shampoo on Seven’s hair, along with the slightly metallic undertone that came from her remaining Borg bits.

“I bet Chakotay hasn’t noticed that,” she said out loud and then admonished herself. A captain should not be reacting this way. “Just let it go, Kathryn, let it go.”

Janeway submerged herself in the water, holding her breath as long as she could, then slowly rising. She sighed deeply and rested her head on the back of the tub. She thought of Seven again. The smile on the ex-Borg’s face, the flush in her cheeks. Then Janeway thought of the way Seven had looked after one of their workout sessions on the holodeck. Seven’s whole body had flushed from the exertion.

Groaning, Janeway gave in to the growing desire and ran her hand over her stomach. She ran her fingers over the ticklish spot where her hip joined thigh and shuddered. Her other hand moved across her body to tease a nipple and embrace her breast.

Janeway parted her legs a centimeter at a time, still not wanting to give in to her depravity. But slowly, her hand made its way to the sensitive spot between them. Her fingers pushed and toyed with her clit while her other hand teased her breasts. Janeway thought of Seven as she looked tonight, she imagined the strap of Seven’s dress coming off slowly, revealing full, beautiful breasts. She thought of Seven’s long legs and how they would feel wrapped around her waist. She thought of how Seven would taste and licked her lips.

Kathryn came with a low sigh, the contractions weak and slow. She closed her eyes and leaned against the tub. She hadn’t wanted to, but she’d done it, and it hadn’t even been that good. She felt dirty.

Janeway scrubbed her body roughly and quickly got dressed and ended the program. She went to her ready room, had some food sent up from the mess and set herself at paperwork she’d been neglecting for weeks.

The next morning Janeway looked as professional as always as she stepped onto the bridge. Her voice was clear and crisp as she said, “Good morning, Seven, Commander." She once again took her seat in the captain’s chair.
