Omega: Jaded II
The
words coming out of Tannia’s mouth shook her world, the very ground she was
standing on. Her stomach fell to the floor along with her heart as her mind
heard those words repeatedly. ‘I’m going to ask Seven to stay with me here on
V’ordack.’
Janeway went to the nearby couch needing to sit down before she could regain her
strength to stand and flee or even speak.
Tannia was going to continue to speak when she noticed the coloring on Janeway
change different hues of red to white to whiter. She caught the Captain’s arm
lightly, helping her to the couch only a few steps away. She allowed the
silence, actually welcomed it, then suddenly noticing she had a thin silk,
practically see-through robe on with a small stringy under garment.
“Captain, I need to change my robe, I will return shortly. Tannia before
turning to leave gave Janeway a small sympathetic smile. It seemed that Janeway
was looking right through her.
Janeway’s thoughts were racing across her mind. “When did this all happen? How
could I have let my world turn upside down? Why didn’t I just admit my feelings
for Seven and live my life. Instead I chose to be the perfect Starfleet Captain
and at what cost. I am far from perfect and now I have lost the woman I love to
this-this woman…. Tannia,” Janeway had barely noticed the name leave her lips.
“Yes Captain” Tannia turned around quickly facing these incredible deep-blue
eyes filled with so much emotion. Janeway motioned with her hand for Tannia to
sit down beside her. Slowly Tannia sat next to Janeway, apprehensive and very
uncertain what to expect from the woman obviously aggrieved.
Janeway took a moment to inspect Tannia, wanting to dislike this woman but she was surprised at how taken she was by this woman’s beauty, intelligence, and honesty.
She noticed the robe that left nothing to the imagination, remembered her conversations with Tannia about every subject imaginable, and then thought about how honest Tannia had been from the beginning about her intentions, even giving her the opportunity to stop her from pursuing Seven.
Seven had made an excellent choice for a partner. How could she be upset, when
Tannia seems to genuinely care for Seven? She looks around the room and notices
the candles, flowers, and dim lights and felt enormously foolish for being blind
to what she had walked into. Her anger, suspicions, and hell- her jealousy had
gotten the better of her.
Janeway began “I believe I owe you an apology for my rude behavior, intruding on
you like this and well I hope that you can forgive an over-protective Captain.
When it comes to members of my crew I just want what is best for them and it
seems that you do care for Seven”
Tannia knew better to leave it alone but somehow needing to know why she pressed
on. “Captain, please, let us be honest with each other. I know that you love
Seven deeply, more than you may be ready to admit to yourself right now. Tannia
saw the Captain’s eyes narrow and Janeway’s back stiffened, but she continued
gently. Seven is a beautiful, intelligent and most incredibly kind person. I
cannot understand why you never told her about your feelings or even tried to
have a fulfilling relationship with her. It just does not make sense.
Janeway felt a flicker of anger return and then as quickly as it came it
dissipated. Tannia held Janeway’s hands. Janeway sighed and her shoulders
relaxed a bit. It was as if Janeway needed to say it all and she did, to the
very woman who will take the love of her life away from her. Kathryn could not
understand the urge to just expose herself to Tannia but she did and when she
finished, she felt better about all that had happened.
Tannia ‘s amazement was apparent by the time Janeway revealed her dedication to
Starfleet, her crew, and her restraint for her own emotions and needs. Janeway
even told her of Seven seeking advice about her. Tannia was surprised that
Seven had not come to Janeway that night after their date, even though Tannia
had asked for Seven’s location on the ship’s computer, but Janeway did not
explained why Chakotay had escorted her to her quarters that same night and that
was why Seven may not have approached her. Janeway was also very annoyed with
herself on how transparent her feelings for Seven really were and wondered if
any one else may know. A few names came to mind and she grimaced.
Now
Tannia knew she would have never had a chance in hell if the Captain had told
Seven about her feelings for her. Janeway’s selflessness was truly noble and
refreshing or sheer stupidity or cowardliness; she was not certain, maybe a
combination of them. The only thing Tannia was certain of was her love for
Seven and her compassion for Janeway.
Captain Janeway rose to the occasion and snap into her command mask preparing to
leave Tannia’s and of late, Seven’s quarters. Janeway extended her hand to
Tannia and Tannia accepted. With a pleasant smile, Janeway said “Tannia you
take great care of Seven and if I ever hear you haven’t, you be sure to know I
will find out and be here faster than a warp 10 breech.” She winked at Tannia
who had gotten a bit nervous with Janeway’s masterful glare, then relaxed and
smiled back. They hugged and Janeway felt such warmth and comfort from Tannia’s
embrace. How thwarting to have these feelings with a woman only known a short
while, but feel as though she has known for an eternity.
"How odd?"
Janeway
thought to herself as she walk down the hall and heard the door hiss behind
her.
Seven was turning the corner when Janeway and her collided, both women fell onto
the floor, along with a bunch of delicate lavender, white and yellow flowers
that flew in the air, landing around them. Janeway looked up and saw the
surprised and beautiful Borg spread on top of her. The Captain thought she was
going to cry and laugh at the same time, but she said nothing except look into
those blue eyes with such intensity that the Borg felt it though her very core.
Seven laid on top of her Captain and emotions she thought she had not had for
her any longer had surfaced, boiling like volcanic lava.
Seven’s eyes locked onto Kathryn’s and in a weak voice, she said, “Kat- Captain,
I did not see you. I apologize for my carelessness. Are you injured?
Kathryn admitted she enjoyed the Borg spread over her like a cozy comforter, but
then realized that she had better clear her head. “Just my pride” she replied
with a crooked grin. “Do you mind getting up, I going to pass out due to lack
of circulation.”?
As
She picked herself up from atop of Janeway, Seven’s lips had a hint of a faint
smile that not most can pick up but definitely noticed by Janeway on many an
occasion. Seven regained her composure, any indication, given away only by an
arch of her Borg-implanted brow. “I did not realized you were coming to the
surface for a visit Captain?” Seven asked as she looked behind Janeway to
Tannia’s doorway.
Janeway feeling caught, paused, and then proceeded to speak “Well I was just
curious how you and Tannia have been? I thought I just drop by and find out for
myself, since you and I have not spoken lately, but I see that you and her have
plans….” Janeway looks down at the flowers and Seven begins to pick up them up
quickly from the floor. “Maybe another time perhaps…sorry about your flowers
Seven, they are very nice bouquet.”
“Captain, how rude of me not to ask you to join us, one evening soon we will
call on you to have dinner or lunch perhaps. “ Seven said with a lace of shame
in her tone. I have not forgotten, I was just pre-occupied and …”
The
Captain held up her hand. “No need to explain Seven, I understand you lovebirds
just wanted sometime alone.” Janeway smiled weakly
“What are Lovebirds? Seven asked quizzically.
With a sigh, Janeway answered. “Technically, a species of bird that show great
affection for its mate. It is also a term humans use to describe a couple in
love.
“Indeed.” Seven blushed slightly, giving Kathryn a yellow bloom.
"Tuvok,
This better be good! What could possible be such an emergency” Chakotay said,
as the doors to the conference room hissed closed, angry that he was disturbed
during his meditation with his spirit guide.
Looking around the room, he adds. “Where’s the Captain?
Tuvok replies “She is on her way back from the surface. I informed her of this
emergency meeting while she was already on her way back via shuttle.”
“I
wasn’t aware the captain had gone to the planet,” Chakotay said and thought with
dismay. “She hadn’t even left her quarters for over a month.”
Tuvok only creased his brows in response, when the Captain rushed in.
“Okay Tuvok, Chakotay. You want to tell me what this is all about.” Janeway
seemed concerned and annoyed. Janeway took a seat at the head of the table
gesturing that both officers sit beside her, looking more like a hostess than a
Captain of a Starship because she was out of uniform, wearing a blue loose
blouse and beige casual slacks. She placed the small delicate yellow bloom on
the table by her side.
“An
urgent matter has arisen. I was monitoring ships repairs and shipments of
supplies, noticing slight discrepancies and incidences occurring the this last
week, upon further investigation, I concluded that these had all been deliberate
sabotages, but I was not certain because there was no sound reasoning behind it.
“ I then took the liberty of assigning a covert operation below the surface and
found that things are not what they appear to be.”
“Why were we not informed of this.”? Chakotay said alarmed.
“There was nothing conclusive to report at the time. I could have easily been
an indication of sloppy carelessness among eager or distracted crew members, but
then each one of those insistences occurred while working with V’ordackians.”
Tuvok replied.
“Proceed.” Janeway urged a dangerous edge growing in her tone.
“Information from my security team revealed an underground resistance toward the
ruling sect, as well as, civil unrest from the third religious sect to the other
two exist. Voyager usually does not interfere or concern themselves with civil
disputes. Interesting enough, each sect seems to not know what the other is
doing, and has spies within each other’s camp to gather intelligence, and then
use that information against one another for power.
“So
what does that have to do with Voyager, my crew’s safety or these sabotages?”
Janeway finally interrupted, now running out of patience.
Given the nature of how they acquire most of their technology, it would be safe
to presume that Voyager is in danger. We were always curious how this planet’s
species evolved in their technological advances, which seems not to be
consistent with their natural progression of the planet and people. It seems
that the technology was acquisitioned through prior travelers who stayed,
whether that was of their own accord is not certain even to the V’ordackians.
“So
the V’ordackians are attempting to keep Voyager for its technology, and what
about the crew?” Chakotay asked in disbelief.
“How will they attempt to keep my ship?” Janeway asked in her lowest register.
“It
is uncertain at this time.” Tuvok said calmly.
Janeway was seeing battle-blood-red and she was not in a good mood to begin
with. “Shore-leave is suspended. Get the entire crew aboard Voyager now and
tell them to stay put until further notice. I want all key-personnel in this
conference room as soon as possible…” She looks down at the delicate flower on
her conference table and adds “except Seven.”
“Captain why not Seven? Chakotay stated
“Just do it and tell her to report to my ready room before the meeting with the
alpha crew.
Tuvok raised his brow and added, “If I may, I do not believe that Voyager’s crew
is under any mind-control, but observation has shown there has been some odd
behavior patterns among the crew. We should proceed with caution at this
point.”
“Point taken, Tuvok. Janeway gave him an eye-roll. Let’s move it. Dismissed!”
Janeway barked. She remained behind, rubbing her hands to her head, suddenly
feeling extremely fatigue, not waiting to go to her ready room.
Seven's encounter with Kathryn was completely thwarting, but she was also not
mistaken by the feelings that surfaced for her. In the past, those feelings
were thought to be a malfunction, she even disagreed with the doctor’s
conclusion that it was a crush, but since her relationship with Ambassador
Tannia, it was unmistakably obvious she had been unaware of these now unresolved
feelings for her Captain.
Seven was not certain if she really wanted to know what it could mean. She could only speculate that maybe her relationship with Tannia had progressed quickly or began for the wrong reasons. “Never.” She thought. “I love Tannia, so how could I have felt those feelings for Janeway.” Seven was concerned, but then she thought that it was that she was caught by surprise by their collision or being in close proximity, of what humans call a person’s personal space.
Her mind was racing, continuing to doubt her conclusions, asking herself if those same feelings would have occurred if she had bumped into B’Elanna or Harry Kim, and the answer was no.
On the other hand, another explanation could be the way in which Janeway had looked at her, it was familiar, actually similar to the way Tannia looks at her. “That cannot be.” The Captain would have told her about her feelings for her, but had she ever really asked the Captain. Suddenly her thoughts and emotions were swimming, she was drowning, and her whole being ached for comforting arms. Most of the time she was blissfully happy, then at times she was so distracted and uncertain.
She
entered her partner’s suite and smiled when she saw the room prepared in a
romantic setting, remembering it was their one month anniversary and Seven
wanted to take her relationship to a new level with Tannia. Curious, Seven
conducted extensive research on V’ordackian lovemaking. Her mind filled with
erotic and conflicting, fragmented thoughts she yearned for Tannia’s
intoxicatingly hypnotic, enticing embrace and sexy voice. "Tannia" she called
out.
She
listened to the low hum of percussion and fluted music filling the room and in
the background heard the sound of the shower.
Feeling uncontrollably compelled, Seven began undressing, walked into to the
shower, to surprise Tannia, just then Tannia opened the shower door to Seevn's
surprise - revealing each other’s nude bodies.
Tannia smiled at the startled, long-legged, blonde Borg, approaching her
soon-to-be lover, closely embracing her, softly kissing Seven’s lips, neck and
shoulders. Tannia’s hands and fingers trailing lightly against Seven’s back
sent pluses of electricity directly to Seven’s instantly pounding, hot-wet
mound. Seven became keenly conscious of their nude bodies touching, connecting,
the radiating heat of the shower surged upon them, feeding and consuming each
others hungry desires, as Tannia’s soft-tip nipples rubbed against her larger
breast. Seven thought she was going to faint from the rush of these new
sensations. She returned her ardor with burning-wet kisses as she ran her hands
through Tannia’s long strawberry colored hair, gently squeezing her breast and
buttock, hearing Tannia’s heavy breathing in her ear as she panted and cried out
with pleasure.
Tannia took Seven’s hand to lead her into the other room to continue their
loving ministrations, so she can finally bond with Seven’s inner light, as
V’ordackians share their bodies natural electrifying life-source.
Seven following the beautiful woman heard the barely audible chirp and muffled
voice of her comm-badge buried in her wine colored bio-suit on the floor. She
stopped and pulled Tannia back. Seven picked up her uniform and tapped her
badge.
“Commander Chakotay” Seven responded slightly agitated at the
interruption.
“All crew is to return to Voyager immediately. Shore leave is canceled until
further notice.” Pause. “Seven of Nine, please report to the Captain’s Ready
Room immediately.”
The
Captain was pacing back and forth like a caged lion, enraged and conflicted with
overwhelming emotions. She did not particularly like the timing of her
interruption; aware of the setting she left at Tannia’s suite, knowing any
disturbance would be unwelcomed. Then immediately shook her head to shake
unwanted thoughts that came to mind. Her heart ached at the very thought of
Seven being with someone else.
Janeway was distraught at the turn of events. No matter how many scenarios she
imagined, it came up a disappointing conclusion. It is going to be impossible
to completely protect Seven from the truth. That the V’ordackians, had a hidden
agenda to keep Voyager here all along, and whether Ambassador Tannia may have
possibly known about this is, is yet unclear, but either way, Seven will be
hurt.
Nevertheless, she was certain that Seven, at the very least, deserved to hear it
in person, and not through any crew’s insensitive remarks or, ship’s gossip,
especially, not during a staff emergency meeting with the alpha crew, staring at
her reaction to this distressing news. It was still a private matter for Seven
and, she wanted her to have a moment to gather her self and give her an
opportunity to come to terms with what it meant.
Then there is the unresolved feelings she had for Seven. She hoped that these
feelings she admitted and revealed to Tannia earlier today did not reach Seven’s
ears, because that would make this much more difficult for her. Seven should
remain impartial to what she was going to tell her, not why.
Saddened by Seven’s situation, her affairs of the heart being so new to her, and love complicated as it is, she was concerned with how Seven will take this. “No matter what, I will be there for Seven.” Janeway thought aloud as she paced an imaginary hole in the carpet.
“It
is good to know that you will Captain. Is there a reason you would say that at
this time?” Seven said quizzically as she stood at the doorway.
Other thoughts just occurred to the Captain. Can she trust Seven not to reveal
Voyager’s findings to Tannia for the sake of her feelings? What exactly would
Seven know about this? “God. This is going to be more difficult then I
thought. I should have stayed in my quarters.” Janeway said to herself as
she motioned Seven to sit at the sofa.
